Step-by-Step Setup for Your Fishing Magnet, Rope & Gear
Setting up your brand-new magnet fishing kit is super easy and in today’s quick video, Bondi Treasure Hunter shows you exactly how to get started. Whether you’re new to the hobby or just need a refresher, here’s a simple step-by-step guide to get your magnet ready for adventure.
1. Safety first, gloves on!
Before you start, put your gloves on and set everything up outside, away from any metal. Magnet fishing magnets are crazy strong, and you never want to hold your magnet by the bottom where something metal could snap onto it and hurt your hand.
2. Your magnet is already pre-assembled
To save you a ton of hassle, all Bondi Magnets come with their protective golden cover already installed. No tools needed! The only thing you need to do is secure the eyebolt with Loctite: apply it to the top of the bolt and it will seep down the threads, locking everything firmly in place.
3. Attach your rope (no knots needed!)
Your kit includes a rope specially made for magnet fishing, with strong stainless-steel carabiners on both ends. Just clip one end onto your magnet: no knots, no stress.
The other end clips to a bridge, pole, railing, tree, or strong anchor point to make sure you never lose your magnet in the water.
4. Your foam travel cover
Inside your magnet box, you’ll find a foam travel cover. This handy little extra keeps your magnet safe (and everything around it safe too!) while you’re transporting it to your next treasure hunt.
5. The grappling hook
Your kit also includes a sharp, heavy-duty grappling hook. It’s perfect for pulling up big, awkward, or not-so-magnetic items like bikes, trolleys, safes, or suitcases.
Not using it? Keep it in your bucket so you don’t accidentally step on it.
6. The Bondi bucket
This isn’t just any bucket, it’s an extra-tough construction bucket designed to handle any adventure. Use it to:
-
Carry your magnet and gear
-
Collect scrap to keep the place clean
-
Rinse down the sidewalk when you’re done
And that’s it! You’re ready to go magnet fishing
Simple, quick, and beginner-friendly. Now grab your gear, head out, and enjoy the adventure.
