Bondi Extra Tough XL Bucket

A bucket does three jobs on a magnet fishing trip and does all of them badly if it is a cheap one. It carries your rope and magnet to the spot with the rope coiled inside and the magnet sitting on top. It holds what you pull out, which is usually wet, rusty and sharp. And at the end it lets you rinse the mud off the footpath so the next person does not find your mess.

Ours is built with a large capacity, a sturdy handle and an extra tough composition that will not split or tear under a load of scrap metal. Bondi's tip: take two, one for finds worth keeping and one for scrap, and sort as you go rather than at home.

Bondi Grappling Hooks, L and XL

The moment a find leaves the water, gravity stops helping you. Bikes and mopeds are the classic case, heavy and awkward and prone to sliding off the magnet exactly when you have got them to the surface. A three-pointed grappling hook solves it. Hook the find, and then it is just hoisting.

The L is 19 cm, the XL is 25 cm for deeper water and larger objects. Both clip straight onto any Bondi heavy duty rope. Most people who fish regularly end up carrying one on a second rope.
