Today we’re doing something a bit different: we’re taking you inside Remon’s scrap metal art workshop to see what he creates from the crazy magnet fishing finds we pull out of Amsterdam’s canals.
Then we’re heading to one of the best magnet fishing spots in Amsterdam, the legendary canal where we’ve pulled out over 60 safes, plus bikes, guns, scooters, and tonnes of treasure over the years.

Inside Remon's Scrap Metal Art Shop (Made From Real Magnet Fishing Finds!)

Our day starts in Remon’s metal art studio, where he turns the rusted junk we recover during magnet fishing into amazing sculptures.

Inside the workshop you’ll find:

• Dragonflies made from old bike parts

• A metal diver sculpture built from canal scrap

• Faces, guitars, planes, and crazy robots

• Street poles, wheels, tools, and old Amsterdam hardware

• A full collection of sculptures created from recycled treasure hunting gear

Remon’s talent is insane: he can take a random rusty plate or bent pipe and somehow turn it into a plane with working propellers or a fish jumping out of the water.

Everything in this studio has a story, and a lot of it came up on a magnet at some point.

Heading Out for Magnet Fishing in Amsterdam - Our Gear Setup

After the tour, we grab our strong neodymium fishing magnets and head to one of the most famous treasure hunting spots in the Netherlands.
This is the canal where we:

• Pulled out more than 60 safes

• Found weapons, money, scooters and bikes

• Needed a crane to lift one of the biggest safes ever

• Cleaned up huge amounts of metal from the water

We drop the drones into the canal first to scout the area.
They're powerful, but the moment the propellers hit the mud, visibility drops to zero. Even with 100m tether and a strong camera, Amsterdam mud wins again.

Back to the Safe Canal, Searching for New Treasure

We return to the exact stretch where we recovered all the safes.
This spot still hides treasure deep in the mud, especially in the corner area we never fully searched.

We start working the edges and immediately pick up:

• Happy gas bottles

• A door handle

• Fishing hooks

• Random crusty items buried for years

Every throw cleans the canal a bit more and pulls us closer to something big.

We Hook Onto Something HUGE…

Dirk suddenly hits something massive.

The magnet locks onto it hard.
Big bubbles rise from the mud.
Oil starts floating to the surface.
Something wrapped in plastic begins to shift.

The suction is insane! Whatever it is has been stuck there for years.

We pulse the magnet, wiggle it, slowly break the mud seal…
