Tips for starters
Tips for getting started with magnet fishing:
Magnet fishing is easy, but it's important to have the right equipment and to start in a quiet spot where you can practice without having to worry about getting your magnet stuck on something.
Here are some tips:
- Choose a spot with no metal objects nearby, such as handrails.
- Practice throwing the magnet and pulling it back out of the water.
- You can even throw something metal in the water and practice finding it back and pulling it off the magnet.
- Bondi Magnets are strong, so it's important to wear gloves to protect your hands.
- Start by dropping your magnet in the water and letting it fall to the bottom.
- Pull it out and see what you find, then drop it back in and drag it along the bottom by walking. This is called the drop-and-drag method.
- Don't be surprised if you find things right away!
- As your confidence grows, you can throw the magnet out further. Be sure to tie it off using the rope carabiner included with your Bondi Magnets rope.
It won't take long before you're ready to explore more magnet fishing spots in your area and find more treasure!
