The rope is the part that fails. A magnet that snaps its line is gone, and it takes whatever it was holding with it. This is why we make our own rather than reselling climbing rope.

What makes the Bondi Heavy Duty Rope different

It is double-braided from high-quality polyester and non-elastic, so what you pull is what moves rather than the rope stretching. It is water-repellent, which means you are not hauling a heavy, dripping line all afternoon. The loops are reinforced with a protective sleeve, so they will not work loose no matter how hard you haul. And it holds a knot under load then unties easily afterwards, which moisture-absorbing ropes do not.

Every rope ships with two stainless steel carabiners. One clips to your magnet, the other to a bridge, a railing or a tree, so a bad throw does not cost you the magnet. You can clip a grappling hook to it too. The rope is also winch-compatible for finds too heavy to lift by hand.

Which thickness do you need?

• 8 mm: the Nugget magnet, the Jackpot magnet, the grappling hook and the XL bucket.
• 10 mm: the Bondi Gold and the Holy Moly.

If you are planning to move up to a heavier magnet later, buy the 10 mm now and save yourself buying twice.

Length

Every rope is 20 m (65 ft). That is long enough to cast properly from a bridge or a dock and still have rope in hand, without becoming an unmanageable tangle in the bucket.

Gold and pink limited editions

Alongside the standard rope, both thicknesses come in limited edition gold and pink. Identical construction, identical carabiners, identical strength; only the colour changes. The gold and pink ropes are also what ship inside the matching gold and pink kits.
